Truly a celebration of the arts for the entire family, proceeds from the Fine Arts and Crafts Festival support all the programs at the Community Arts Center.

The Community Arts Center is proud to have the opportunity to present the finest arts and crafts from throughout the Delaware Valley on Park Avenue in Swarthmore.  The Community Arts Center’s Fine Arts and Crafts Festival, now in its sixteenth year, has an established reputation of presenting the work of the area’s best artists and artisans. Artists are selected by a rigorous jury process, ensuring only the finest quality of art is presented at the Festival. Festival-goers delight in the open, friendly atmosphere, the opportunity to meet and speak with artists and the chance to visit Swarthmore’s fine restaurants and shops. It’s a great day of FREE FAMILY fun! Live musical entertainment, fine food, and free children’s activities add to the festive fun. The  welcoming atmosphere, excellent art and craft and participation by Swarthmore merchants and restaurateurs make the CAC’s Fine Arts & Crafts Festival a highly anticipated community event. Proceeds from this event support all the programs at the Community Arts Center including free exhibitions, concerts, and its extensive community outreach program ARTto go which provides extraordinary arts experiences throughout the Delaware Valley. About the Community Arts Center

The arts are essential to human development and the well being of society. The Community Arts Center is dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for artists at all levels of their creative journey, encouraging participation in the arts through advocacy, education and outreach, and serving as a vital creative resource for the community.

The Community Arts Center was founded in 1948 by a group of local artists. Throughout its long and successful history the Arts Center has continually pursued excellence in all areas of its programming, expanding course offering and other programs to meet the needs of its community. The Community Arts Center offers four semesters of classes in the visual arts for students of all ages and ability levels. The Duke Gallery at the Community Arts Center offers a year round exhibition schedule of artists of both national and local prominence. The Arts Center operates an extensive outreach program ARTtogo which provides extra ordinary arts experiences for groups and organizations regardless of their ability to pay. Included in this program is the Chester Community Mural Program, Kid Crew at Springfield Mall and other community based activities. The SUMMER SPREE arts camp is a well-respected summer adventure for children and the ARTstart Preschool program presents a traditional pre-school program through the arts for children 4 – 5 years old. Dedicated to providing the best arts opportunities in the community, the Arts Center is a recognized community resource.
